President

ARTHI VENKATAKRISHNAN

Arthi Venkatakrishnan is the President for the Red Cross club this year. She’s experienced in many fields of the Red Cross and is passionate about their mission.

 

Outside of Red Cross/MOD, she runs, reads, and sings. She is looking forward to working with everyone!

Vice President

SHIVANI NALLAPU

Shivani Nallapu is a senior at WWPHSN. Shivani has been part of the Red Cross for over 4 years. Currently, Shivani is the Vice-President for WWPHSN Red Cross/MOD club but she holds other positions such as VIPC Intake Basic/Advanced Team Member, VIPC Intake Leader, Helpline Team Member, and Referral Team Member. For Shivani, the most rewarding part of volunteering with the Red Cross is helping others during their most vulnerable time whether it is donating blood to people in need or raising money for disaster relief.

 

Outside of Red Cross/MOD, Shivani enjoys to sketch and play variety of sport such as lacrosse and basketball. Shivani also loves to spend anytime she has outside either hiking, biking, play sports, or simply hanging out with her friends or family.

Vice President

YASH ABHYANKAR

Yash Abhyankar is an exceptional team player and leader. He has been working with the Red Cross for the last four years as a Communications Engagement Volunteer, VIPC Volunteer, and just recently working as the Events and Social Media Coordinator and as the Vice-President for the High School North Red Cross. Red Cross allows Yash to express his love for volunteering and working with a diverse group of people while also raising funds and various resources for the underprivileged.
 

Outside of Red Cross, Yash loves to code, play the Tabla, and educate underprivileged students through the Apollo Foundation. Yash is additionally interested in medicine, computer science, and research.

Smithika.HEIC

Secretary

SMITHIKA REDDY KARRU

Smithika Reddy Karru is currently the secretary of High School North’s Red Cross club. She connects with the organization’s core values of unity and voluntary service, and hopes to contribute to their mission of protecting the lives of those in need.

 

Outside of Red Cross/MOD, she has been an active member of her community both in and out of school. She is the captain and goalie of the Knights Varsity field hockey team. She is also a tutor at the City Kidz World Academy and a volunteer at Rutgers Gardens and Watershed Institute. She has been working at a pediatrician’s office for the past two years. Her hobbies include playing field hockey, running, playing guitar, reading, hanging out with friends, and binge watching Netflix. She also enjoys spending time outdoors with her family. She is excited to see what the year will bring and can’t wait to get to know everyone.

Treasurer

RIYA PARIKH

Riya Parikh is a junior at WWPHSN! She has been in Red Cross/March of Dimes since freshman year and is currently treasurer. Riya loves being involved with the Red Cross/March of Dimes because she believes the work that they do is extremely important to save lives.

 

Outside of Red Cross/March of Dimes, Riya is involved in SAASA, Student Council, Peer Leaders, and is a tutor and swim instructor. She also likes to read, watch TV, and and spend time with her friends and family.

Ashna.HEIC

Social Media and Events Coordinator

ASHNA CHANDRAN

Ashna Chandran is a junior at WWPHSN! She has been a part of the club since freshman year. Ashna loves being a part of Red Cross because she loves to be a part of a group that harnesses the strengths of us all in order to make a difference in our community!

 

Outside of Red Cross, Ashna loves to play the flute in marching band as well as her school’s wind ensemble! Ashna is also a certified lifeguard and loves to swim, as well as teach swim lessons! She’s also passionate about biology and medical research within oncology. She can’t wait to get to know all of you this year!

Recruitment Chair

ESHA ALI

Esha Ali uses her devotion and hard-working personality to constantly volunteer and help out in her community. Red Cross gives her the opportunity to showcase her love in aiding people in need and taking action in desperate times.

 

Additionally, Esha is interested in medicine, enjoys competitively swimming, and contributing her time to her local mosque, guiding young muslims. She is also the founder the forum Special Fun for Special One, aiding special kids in having fun.

Recruitment Chair

SAMEERA REDDYMEKA

Sameera is a sophomore at WWPHSN and one of the recruitment chairs for the Red Cross Club. She is passionate about helping others and giving back to her community. Sameera is super excited to host blood drives this year!

 

Outside of Red Cross/MOD, Sameera is a competitive fencer, member of Girl Scouts, and a tutor for young students in India. She enjoys painting, spending time with family, and meeting new people.
